the educational landscape, not only in Bhutan but also within the broader creative arts and education sectors.

University of New England
For the past 25 years, the University of New England (UNE) in New South Wales, Australia, has maintained a strong collaboration with the Royal University of Bhutan, formalised through a memorandum of understanding with Paro College of Education. This partnership encourages the exchange of ideas and projects, fostering opportunities for academic and cultural growth.

The collaboration between staff from UNE and Paro College of Education has further deepened these relationships, providing a model for both academic and professional staff. This exchange has given rise to the innovative Artist in Residence Education Program, which highlights the benefits of embedding the arts in education—an approach that resonates not only in Bhutan but globally.
