Welcome - Jen Pa Leg So

The Artist in Residence program at Paro College of Education* is the first of its kind in Bhutan. This residency provides a context for the artist to make links to communities of practice. It provides time, space and contexts where artists can develop their own work, creative skills and facilitate the exchange of ideas, practices and knowledge.

Elements from Bhutan’s Zorig Chusum will serve as springboards for creative and meaningful approaches to education. Through purposeful and reciprocal exploration, experimentation, innovation and sharing between the artist in residence, lecturers, students, and Bhutanese artisans, the aim is for the arts to broaden, enrich and enliven the curriculum.

*Paro College of Education, one of the constituent colleges of the Royal University of Bhutan (RUB), is the centre for teacher training for children from 3 years to 12 years old
